A new website for Sutherland Shire Reconciliation.

You might have noticed that our website has a new look. Although it contains the same information as our previous site, in the future, our site will become a hub for updates on events, community news related to SSR, personal stories, Dharawal culture, and, importantly, truth-telling.

Our website is made possible by the generosity of our volunteer committee and supporters, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous. We encourage you to explore the site and share it with others. When we have updates, please share those stories with your friends. Together, we can all participate in spreading the gift of Dharawal culture and supporting reconciliation.

While we are here - it is a good time to remind you of our wonderful Summer Rainbow Serpent Picnic. It would be great if you try out our website and RSVP to help give us an idea of attendance numbers. You can do that by using the following link. https://www.sutherlandshirereconciliation.org/event-details/summer-rainbow-serpent-picnic

We hope you like our new website. In Reconciliation, SSR.

Sutherland Shire Reconciliation acknowledges the Dharawal language speaking people of the Gweagal and Norongerragal clans, as the traditional custodians of the lands within the Sutherland Shire. We are grateful for their immemorial care of the lands and waterways on which we live and work.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander viewers are advised that this website may contain images and voices of people who have died.

'Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander’, ‘First Nations,’ ‘Aboriginal‘ and ‘Indigenous’ are used interchangeably on this website to refer to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of Australia, their arts and their cultures. We understand that some may not be comfortable with these words. Please understand, only respect is meant.
